Gourmet Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans

Gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans are not only delicious but they are also quite simple to make. If you are looking for a snack with a kick or you want to have a snack that raises eyebrows at your next party then you can’t go wrong with gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans.

Gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans are commonly made with bitter sweet gourmet chocolate but you may use almost any type of gourmet chocolate (milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, sweet chocolate, or semi-sweet chocolate). You will need about twelve ounces of gourmet chocolate to make one cup of gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans.

Once you have selected the gourmet chocolate you want to use, it is time to select the coffee beans. You may use any type of coffee bean but it is highly recommended that you make your gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans using gourmet coffee beans . This will greatly enhance the flavor!

The next step in making gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans is to melt the gourmet chocolate. Chop the gourmet chocolate up into small pieces and place them into a medium sized, heat resistant bowl. Next, put a pan of hot water on the stove and heat it on low. Now, place the bowl over the pan, making sure the bowl does not touch the water Whisk the gourmet chocolate gently. Continue until the chocolate thoroughly melted and smooth. If the gourmet chocolate gets too hot, remove it from the heat for a while. You can actually reheat gourmet chocolate quite a few times without ruining it.

Now it is time to actually dip your gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans. Place about one third of a cup of gourmet coffee beans in the melted chocolate. Stir the gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans around until they are well coated. Using a fork, remove your coated coffee beans from the melted gourmet chocolate and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. (Do not allow the gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans to touch each other.) Continue coating your gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans until they all are finished.

To make your gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans a little bit extra special, buy some cocoa powder. Sprinkle the cocoa powder on the gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans while they are still hot. After you are done, place the gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans in the refrigerator over night to harden. Once hardened, store them in an airtight container.

As a final note, you may discover that even gourmet chocolate can be stubborn about melting. For this reason, we highly recommend making chocolate covered coffee beans using a double boiler or chocolate melter.

Stainless steel double boilers are an item which has many uses and is also well suited for melting chocolate. The high quality versions ensure even heating. Double boilers also have tempered glass lids which vent steam. Of course, a chocolate melter is perfect for melting chocolate but they tend to be more limited in uses than double boilers are.
